The Philippa Fawcett Mathematics Essay Prize is a new addition to our annual essay prizes. It is named after the former Newnham student who in 1890 was the first woman to obtain the highest mark of all candidates for the Cambridge Mathematical Tripos.Students will submit an essay based on one or more objects selected from the College’s small antiquities museum, the Lawrence Room. This competition is an opportunity for research and writing beyond the curriculum using one or more of the museum objects as your focus.The Robinson College Essay Prize is open to all students currently in Year 12 (Lower Sixth, or equivalent) at a UK School. It is designed to give students the opportunity to develop and showcase their independent study and writing skills.

The Philosophy Essay Prize is open to Year 12 or Lower 6th students.
